Welcome Dean Wilson
Jennifer Wilson became Lang’s Interim Dean on October 1, 2020. She joined Eugene Lang College in 2003, is an Associate Professor of Mathematics, and prior to this transition served as Lang’s Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs. As a practicing mathematician in a liberal arts college her research is focused on mathematics applied to the social sciences, particularly game theory, fair division, allocation problems, social choice and voting theory.
She has served The New School community in various capacities including Chair of the Department of Natural Sciences, member of the Faculty Senate, Faculty Affairs Committee, Middle States Steering Committee, the University Task Force on Science and Quantitative Reasoning, the Lang Social Justice Committee, and the Parsons’ based Visualizing Finance Lab which looks at the intersection of narrative visualization, financial literacy and behavioral economics.
Dean Wilson will continue her academic leadership at Lang with deep institutional knowledge of the College and strong relationships with faculty, staff and students. This valuable understanding and experience will ensure a smooth transition as Stephanie Browner takes on the role of Interim Provost. A plan and process for Lang’s leadership beyond the immediate moment will be developed this semester.
